We took the pups up to the lake with us this weekend. The BF’s family leases a camp spot out in the middle of nowhere with an awesome lake. Since its basically considered theirs, we have to maintain it. It’s a pretty sweet deal. His family built a few decks a long time ago so that once summer rolls around you set up the tents once and leave them up until fall. And they have a shed so you can leave stuff up there, like sleeping bags and tubes for tubing on the lake. Anyways, it was about time to get it cleaned up for this coming summer, so we decided it would be a good time to get the puppies into the water.
Loki absolutely loved it! We could barely get him out once we knew he needed a break! And once we did that he just started crying because he wanted to keep swimming. This might have been the first time he was legitimately excited about playing fetch. There was a ton of bark and sticks already in the water, but he somehow knew which stick we had thrown. Kona was a little more unsure of it all. She really wanted to go in, but she was hesitant to get her little head under water. She eventually did though! I think she takes after me with this whole swimming thing. You just have to get used to it, you know? One toe at a time. I think they are going to love the lake all summer!
